Doctors' strike enters fifth day in Jammu

            Health services remained paralysed in the district as the indefinite strike by government doctors, demanding revision in their pay packages, entered the fifth consecutive day today.

          Work was badly affected in Government Medical College (GMC) and several hospitals in Jammu due to the strike.
          Emergency services, however, were being run by senior doctors.

                    The doctors held demonstrations and organised a rally within the complex of GMC hospital and several leaders addressed the medicos and demanded immediate fulfilment of their demands.

         The strike has affected the health care services in Primary Health Centres hospitals at Samba, Rajouri, Ramban, Poonch, Udhampur, Kathua, Billawar, Basholi, Bhaderwah, Doda, Kishtwar and Batote of Jammu region.
             At the government medical college, some patients and their relatives held demonstrations demanding immediate medicare facilities and urged the government to fulfil the demands of the doctors.
