All India Conference of CAT to discuss service laws

The All India Conference of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) will be held on November 1, 2009. Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, Shri K.G.Balakrishnan will inaugurate and deliver the keynote address. The Union Minister for Law & Justice, Dr. M.Veerappa Moily and the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Shri Prithviraj Chavan will also address the Conference during the inaugural session.

Justice Shri V.K.Bali, Chairman CAT, several Judges of the Supreme Court, Attorney General, Solicitors General; the Chairmen, the Vice-Chairmen of CAT will be among those taking part in the Conference. Members from all the 66 Central Administrative Tribunals in the country and Members of the CAT Bar and the High Court Bar Association will also take part in the deliberations. The Conference is aimed at holding free and frank discussions on service laws and other issues that have a bearing on the functioning of CAT. The Conference will come out with its suggestions/decisions to improve the functioning of this institution so as to speed up administration of justice through the tribunals.
